Center for the Arts

A First-Class Facility

Our Center for the Arts is a fabulous place for music study, teaching, rehearsing and performing. The Class of 1945 Hall offers outstanding acoustics for music performance and recording.

Since the hall’s opening, the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the public radio show From the Top have booked our Hall for recording.

Last year alone we sponsored 30 concerts on our campus. Notable visitors include the Harvard and Mt. Holyoke Glee Clubs, violinist Lynn Chang, song leader Nick Page, pianist John Buttrick, the American Choral Directors Association Children’s Choir Festival, the Greater Boston Symphony Orchestra, pianist John Pivarnik, and the Boston-based band Made in the Shade.

We’ve also hosted several of our own festivals. The St. Mark’s Choir hosted Belmont Hill, Fenn, and Fay schools for a Spring Sing in April 2006, 10 schools joined us for the 15th annual Wick Choral Festival in February 2006, and our Chamber Players played with orchestras from Groton School and Concord Academy in November 2005.

The Class of 1945 Hall has become a popular recording venue for major artists and groups in the Boston area. This year the Boston Symphony Chamber Players, the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and the public radio show From the Top have booked our hall for recording.
