I am delighted that you are interested in St. Mark’s School and I hope that you benefit from the information and resources provided on our website. St. Mark’s, founded in 1865, is a college-preparatory boarding and day school, grades nine through twelve. Nested upon 250 acres in the picturesque suburb of Southborough, Massachusetts, the school is only 25 miles from the abundant cultural and social opportunities in Boston.

The School’s outstanding faculty — 65 in number — guides 335 students through a rigorous curriculum and a full program of athletic, artistic and spiritual activities, fostering a close and supportive community. St. Mark’s engages and motivates its’ talented and diverse student body by emphasizing academic excellence, developing values and character, and serving to the larger community. Class size averages 10 students with a student–faculty ratio of five to one. St. Mark’s offers more than 20 Advanced Placement courses, as well as independent study opportunities which range from working on the school's prize-winning electric vehicle to reading Luke’s Gospel in Ancient Greek. Graduates leave St. Mark’s exceptionally prepared to succeed at the highly selective colleges and universities to which they gain acceptance.

The School’s outstanding faculty — 65 in number — leads 335 students through a rigorous curriculum and a full program of athletic, artistic and spiritual activities, fostering a close and supportive community.

Typically, our IIIrd Form (ninth grade) program welcomes 65 students to campus each year. Subsequently, IVth Form (tenth grade) enrollment increases by approximately one-third to 90 students and Vth Form (eleventh grade) may bring 5-10 additional students. Campus visits for prospective families are unique in that students tour with St. Markers while parents tour with a faculty member. Visiting campus is the key to understanding just how connected we are as a community. In general, well over 80 percent of those who interview with us decide to apply to St. Mark’s.

St. Markers excel in many areas, and opportunities abound for them. Click through our website and visit campus! Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have any questions. You can reach me through e-mail at annebehnke@stmarksschool.org or click Meet the Office to e-mail any one of our extremely qualified admission associates.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to St. Mark’s School!

Sincerely,
Anne E. Behnke
