Meet the Office

The Advancement Office works in partnership with St. Mark’s alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, and friends to further the mission of the School. We hope to see you at the many events that occur each year in Southborough and beyond, and we are grateful for the ongoing support that allows St. Mark’s to educate students for lives of consequence.

Kirk Swenson

Kirk moved from higher education to head St. Mark's Advancement Office in 2008. In his role as Chief Advancement Officer, Kirk works with the Board of Trustees and Head of School to advance their vision for the School. Kirk takes great pride in leading the group responsible for building relationships and securing the resources needed to make St. Mark's the best small boarding school in the country! Kirk helps coach the boys varsity hockey team and teaches a seminar course in sustainability. As a member of the faculty, Kirk lives on campus with his wife Whitney and their son Owen.

Stephanie Katz

Title: Director of Alumni and Parent Engagement

Stephanie joined the St. Mark’s School community as the Annual Fund Director in August 2009 and later expanded her role to include oversight of alumni and parent engagement activities. Prior to this, she held various positions in alumni affairs and development at Harvard University and the University of Rochester. Stephanie loves working with her team to provide meaningful opportunities to engage our constituents and deepen the connections among alumni, parents, and students. Stephanie holds a BA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MA in Art History from New York University. 


Christine Del Favero

Christine came to St. Mark's in 2011 with a background in alumni relations and fundraising in museums and higher education. Working closely with the Parents' Association, Christine provides opportunities for parents to become engaged with the life of the School through volunteering and supporting the Annual Fund. Christine loves working with the dedicated parents who do so much to enrich our St. Mark's community. 


Hilary Rouse

Hilary joined St. Mark’s from Suffield Academy in July 2012 with a background in alumni relations and fundraising. Hilary supports Class Agents from 1937-1999 in their role of connecting classmates to St. Mark’s, each other, and asking for Annual Fund support. She also works with Reunion classes and the planning committees for Reunion, Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Distinguished Alumni Awards to create successful events that bring alumni back to campus. Hilary is a graduate of Suffield Academy, Gettysburg College, and Loyola University Maryland and lives with her husband, Dave, in Maynard. 


Melissa Anderson

Melissa joined the Advancement team in 2010 after gaining fundraising experience at a local NPR affiliate.  As Assistant Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement Melissa oversees the operational aspects of the Annual Fund including mail and email solicitations. Highlights of her time spent at St. Mark's include educating current students about the annual fund and managing the student philanthropy program.  


Laura Keeler

Laura transitioned from a leading event planning company to the St. Mark’s Advancement team to unite her passion for the boarding school experience and enthusiasm for bringing people together through events. As the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement, Laura is responsible for engaging St. Mark's young alumni, supporting the regional chapters, and coordinating advancement events. When not at St. Mark’s, Laura serves as Vice President of the Pomfret School Alumni Association and Chair of the Executive Council's Events Committee. She lives in Boston with her fiancé, Vassar, and their golden retriever, Dazee.

Heather Stacchi

Heather moved from higher education to become St. Mark’s new Director of Major Gifts in January 2013.  In her role, Heather manages the leadership giving team and has the pleasure of traveling the country to build relationships with alumni and parents who are willing to invest their time and resources in St. Mark’s future. Heather lives in Chelmsford with her husband Mike and her daughter Madeleine, who aspires to be a future Lion.

Bill Bagley

Bill is an attorney whose background in institutional advancement ranges from service as assistant director of a university museum at Yale to service as an advisor to a Ford Foundation initiative in affordable housing and as senior philanthropic advisor to the Trustees of Reservations. At St. Mark’s, Bill works to encourage the use of planned gifts to advance the School’s work and is the liaison to the 50th Reunion Class. He strives to help alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends design gifts that benefit families and the School alike. 


Nate Cohen

Nate joined the St. Mark's Advancement Office as Major Gifts Officer in January of 2014 with a passion for networking and fundraising. In a role that consists of building crucial relationships to advance the current and future state of the school, he takes delight in learning about what makes "St. Markers" special each day. Nate and his wife Rachel live in Brookline.


Christy bradley

Christy moved back to the Boston area after spending two years living in Aspen, Colorado and joined the St. Mark's Advancement team in the fall of 2013. As Development Assistant, she works closely with the Major Gifts Officers and supports the Alumni and Parent programs. She is a graduate of Brooks School and Trinity College.

Amy began working at St. Mark’s in 2012.  As the Director of Advancement Services, she maintains constituent data and executes many of the Advancement Office operational functions, including gift processing and reporting.  She lives with her family in Westborough. 

Sarah Clark

Sarah joined the Advancement team in 2009 having previously worked in the public relations/communications industry and as district director for a national non-profit organization. In her role at St. Mark’s, Sarah enjoys managing communications efforts that help connect alumni and parents to each other and the School. She is a graduate of Boston College and lives in Acton with her husband, Dan, and children, Haley and Zander.

Megan Hyland

Title: Stewardship Manager

Megan joined the St. Mark’s team in August 2012. As Stewardship Manager, she is responsible for ensuring all gifts are properly acknowledged, recognized, and used for their intended purposes as well as communicating with donors regarding the current value and impact of their gifts. She partners with the Advancement team on events and programs that enhance the School’s relationships with current and future donors, and with the Student Enrichment office on the Career Day program and student grant awards. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University at Albany, where she also worked for the Alumni Association and served as their first Director of Stewardship. Megan lives in Shrewsbury with her husband and two daughters.

Kate joined the St. Mark’s Advancement Office in 2012. Working as a member of the Advancement Services team, Kate assists with maintenance of constituent data and gift processing, and she also provides support for the major gifts team. Kate lives on campus with her husband, Mark, a faculty member, and their son Teddy and dog Milo.

Scott Young '85

Scott returned to his alma mater in 2010 following a successful career in the NHL. In addition to coaching our boys varsity hockey team and working as Athletics Admission Liaison, Scott helps the Advancement Office to connect with alumni, parents, and friends through a variety of events and programs. Scott's goal is to help bring individuals closer in support of St. Mark's.
