  • Shirts for Soldiers: Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team Supports Semper Fi Fund to Assist Veterans and Their Families

    All this week, members of the St. Mark's Boys’ Varsity Soccer team will be outside the dining hall selling t-shirts in support of the Semper Fi Fund. The players chose to support the Semper Fi Fund because of its commitment to aid veterans and their families. This coming Saturday, on Parents/Family Weekend, the team will continue its efforts to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause when they wear custom Semper Fi jerseys in their home game against Governor’s Academy. Shirts will also be for sale before, during, and after the game.

  • Varsity Field Hockey, Boys’ JV Cross Country Undefeated at Mid-Point of SM Fall Sports Season

    The Varsity Field Hockey team and St. Mark’s Boys’ JV Cross Country are both undefeated so far, exactly halfway through this year’s fall sports season. The defending Independent School League championField Hockey contingent is 10-0, while the young harriers are 11-0 at this point in their respective autumn campaigns.

    Assistant Football Coach and SM Parent Scott Ladner Recognized for Community Volunteer Efforts

    This past week, St. Mark’s Assistant football coach Scott Ladner was recognized in the local Community Advocate newspaper for his volunteer work. In 2009, Ladner founded the Shrewsbury American Youth Football and Cheer Organization (SAYFCO). Today, SAYFCO is the largest youth organization of its kind in New England.rgest youth organization of its kind in New England.

    Varsity Football, Field Hockey Unbeaten in Opening Week Action

    Behind an awesome offensive display by co-captain Logan Lee ‘15 at quarterback and a brilliant defensive effort led by co-captain Aaron McLean '15, the St. Mark’s Varsity Football team won its season opener, 28-21 over Middlesex. This is the first opening day win for the Lions since 2008, and St. Mark’s first victory over Middlesex since 1990.

    This past Monday, the St. Mark’s JV Field Hockey team traveled to Worcester, to visit the Why Me program there. Why Me is a Worcester based non-profit organization created to help Central New England families cope with childhood cancer.

  • Tess D’Orsi ’16 Selected for National Under-19 Women’s Lacrosse Squad: More St. Markers Honored

    Congratulations to Tess D’Orsi ’16, who was just named to the 25-player training roster for the U.S. Women’s National Under-19 Lacrosse Team. A rising Fifth Former from Sudbury, MA, D’Orsi was the leading scorer on this past spring’s 15-2 St. Mark’s Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse team, earning All-Independent School League (ISL), All-New England, and All-American honors for her efforts.

  • All-American Honors Aplenty for SM Girls’ Lacrosse Players

    Two members of this spring’s 15-2 Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse team were named First Team All-Americans by US Lacrosse, the governing body of high school lacrosse nationwide. Mikaela Karlsson ’14 was recognized as an All-American for the second year in a row, while Tess D'Orsi '16 earned her first All-Amerocan nod. In addition, five St. Mark’s girls’ lacrosse players—Hope D'Orsi '14, Maddie Torgerson ’15, Lizzy MacDougall ’14, and Kieran Burke ’14, along with Karlsson—were recognized by US Lacrosse as Academic All-Americans.
