The 8th Annual International Summer Chamber Music Festival & Institute, hosted by St. Mark’s, presented a pair of concerts featuring both students and faculty on Thursday, August 9 and Saturday, August 11 in the Class of 1945 Hall, part of the Putnam Family Arts Center at St. Mark’s.
A dozen students and nine faculty performed works by Vivaldi, Mozart, Beriot, Bayley, Schumann, Bloch, Haydn, Mendelsshon, Handel, Brahms, and Bach over the two afternoons. The audiences got to hear some top-flight, high quality playing from student and faculty on violins, violas, cellos, harpsichord, and piano.
"These were the final performances in a series of three public concerts offered at the eighth St. Mark's Summer Music Institute," said St. Mark's Director of Music Tom Berryman, "featuring young (some very young) soloists from the Boston area. What a treat to hear this first rate playing in our fantastic Class of '45 Hall."
