This past Saturday, more than 100 families—over 300 guests—attended the annual autumn Admissions Open House at St. Mark’s. It was the largest such event ever at the School. Visitors came from eight states and seven different countries, and despite impending rough weather, the Open House was a great success.
Almost every seat in the Class of 1945 Hall was filled when Head of School John C. Warren ’74 greeted the prospective candidates and their families. Student speakers for the event included VI Form Monitors Samiat Okoya and Mark Upton. There were also musical performances from St. Markers, including the Cat’s Meow. The guests also enjoyed informative student-led campus tours.
“Our Open House is a wonderful opportunity,” said St. Mark’s Director of Admission Anne Behnke. “It is a chance for families who have already visited to come back for another look, and it is a time when first-time visitors can come for interviews and to get to know the School. We love the opportunity to showcase St. Mark’s and the exciting prospects of the Center, STEM, and Global initiatives we are undertaking.”
