Bowls for Hunger: Samiat Okoya ’13 Leads Spring Ceramic Bowl fundraiser to Benefit Worcester Area Food Pantry

Each year, St. Mark’s artists create ceramic bowls to sell at a fundraiser to fight hunger around the world, beginning with local communities. This year, the annual event raised $1900 for the Worcester Food Pantry, more than doubling last year’s total.

Class of 1963 Celebrates Their 50th Reunion at St. Mark’s

This past weekend, 32 members from the St. Mark’s Class of 1963 gathered on campus to celebrate their 50th Reunion. It was an opportunity for them to rekindle old memories, renew old friendships, and to discover the new St. Mark’s some fifty years after their graduation.

Girls' Varsity Tennis Honors Rival Coach In Her Fight Against Cancer

By the first week of May, not only was the St. Mark’s Girls’ Varsity Tennis team off to a winning start (6-4 over its first ten contests), but it was also proving itself a winner for its compassionate sportsmanship. On Wednesday, May 1st, the St. Mark’s team wore pink to celebrate a rival coach who is winning her fight against cancer.

Visitors from Southborough Senior Center Tour Campus

Mr. Berryman Demonstrates, Displays Belmont Chapel Organ

On the afternoon of Friday, May 10, St. Mark’s Music Director Tom Berryman gave a presentation to an fascinated crowd of more than two dozen students, faculty and staff, on the subject of the Belmont Chapel organ. He demonstrated the instrument, then took members of the audience up to look at some of the 3500 pipes, while others remained at the console, attempting to play the organ.

Annual VI Form Pledge Project Sets Record in 2013

This year’s VI Form Pledge Project was a great success, yielding a record 58 gifts toward the VI Form Annual Fund Gift. Now in its third year, this participation and awareness drive for the Annual Fund was led by 2013 Class Agents Matt Golding, Mark Upton, Jessica Maposa, Jenna Levandowski, Nick Kean, Natalie Armacost, Livie Colburn, Maddie Vachris, Henry Marshall, and Stephanie Osei.

Dean of Academics Lynette Sumpter Speaks on Equity as Part of NPEA Education Panel

Annual Broadway Nights Performances This Weekend to Benefit Haiti

This coming Friday and Saturday nights, May 10 and 11, St. Mark’s will present the annual Broadway Nights performances in the Class of 1951 Lobby at the Putnam Family Arts Center. Students will perform music from Chicago, The Lion King, South Pacific, The Woman in White, Little Shop of Horrors, The Magic Show, Sweeney Todd, Aladdin, Pinocchio, Little Women, DreamGirls, and more! The performances on both nights will begin promptly at 7:30 PM.

At the 21st Annual John P. Garrahan MetroWest Community Prayer Breakfast this spring, Laura Sanchez ‘14 was one of thirteen local high school students honored with the John P. Garrahan Leadership in Diversity Award by the Alliance for MetroWest Unity. Each was recognized for fostering “greater communication and harmony in school communities” and promoting “understanding between people of diverse backgrounds.”
