    New Monitors Announced for 2014-15

    At this Wednesday’s All-School Meeting in the Center, the new Monitors for the 2014-15 St. Mark’s School year were announced. Faith White of Wellesley, MA and Connor Mulvey of Falmouth, MA will be co-Head Monitors next year. The other Monitors will be Mame Kane (NY, NY), Mykel Macedon (Bronx, NY), Blake Normandin (Wayland, MA), Jonathan Qu (Wayland, MA), Torie Shakespeare (Southborough, MA), and Liz Swain (Groton, MA).

    Carl Corazzini Named New St. Mark’s Boys’ Varsity Hockey Coach for 2014-15 Season

    April 14, 2014

    Former BU hockey captain and professional hockey player Carl Corazzini has been tapped to be the sixteenth head coach of Boys’ Varsity Hockey at St. Mark’s. Corazzini will succeed SM alumnus Scott Young ’85, who after four years as the Lion’s head coach will be moving on to become Director of Men’s Hockey Operations at Boston University.

    Slam Poet Taylor Mali Performs for Enthusiastic Gray Colloquium Audience

    This past Monday, in celebration of National Poetry Month, performance poet Taylor Mali took to the stage of the Class of 1945 Hall in the Putnam Family Arts Center at St. Mark's. Mr. Mali's appearance was co-sponsored by the St. Mark's English Department and the Gray Colloquium. The Gray Colloquium Series is designed to engage St. Mark’s students in an exploration of one complex global issue annually. It has been made possible by the generosity of former St. Mark's Board President and Trustee C. Boyden Gray '60. This year’s Gray Colloquium theme is “Citizenship in a Technological World”.

    Robotics Team Competitive in N.E. Regional Events

    In just its fourth year of operation, the St. Mark’s Robotics Team #3566 “Gone Fishin’” looked strong in both New England Regional competitions over the last six weeks. Major events both in New Hampshire (at the end of February) and Connecticut (at the end of March) saw the St. Mark’s contingent make an impressive showing, earning the respect of their opponents and of the crowd against a very challenging field.

    Musicians from MIT, Berklee, and St. Mark's Featured in Annual Cutler Jazz Festival This Sunday

    This Sunday evening, April 13, starting at 6:30 PM, the St. Mark's Class of 1945 Hall in the School's Putnam Family Arts Center will ring with the sounds of great jazz. Current SM Director of Music James Wallace has announced the lineup for this year's Cutler Jazz Festival. Sunday's concert will present the St. Mark's School Jazz Band, the MIT Jazz Ensemble, and the Bill Pierce Quartet from the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston.

    Guest Presenter Facilitates Faculty Discussion on Global Citizenship

    Just before classes resumed for the spring term, the St. Mark’s faculty participated in a Professional Development program focusing on Global Citizenship. The facilitator and keynote speaker for the two-day event was Dr. Maghan Keita, history professor and director of the Institute for Global Interdisciplinary Studies at Villanova’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as well as Chair of the College Board’s Trustee body.
