Each spring, St. Mark’s artists create ceramic bowls to sell in a fundraiser in an effort to fight hunger around the world: starting with the local community. This year, St. Mark’s raised over $900 to donate to the Worcester Area Food Bank.
V Former Samiat Okoya spearheaded the 2012 endeavor. “She worked hours in the studio,” said ceramics teacher Aggie Belt, “donating her time and talent to make several ceramic bowls.” Some of Ms. Belt’s Ceramics I students also created pots to be sold.
Ms. Belt sent out “a big Thank-You” to all who contributed. “Every pot helps!” she said. “Congratulations, Mug-Spinners!”
