In September, the work of Sarah Meyer ’07 was displayed in Taft Hall to open the Visiting Artist Exhibition Series at St. Mark’s this school year. Both teacher and artist, Meyer interned with long-time St. Mark’s art teacher Barbara Putnam last year. This year, she has taken over Ms. Putnam’s classes while the former St. Mark’s Art Department chair is on sabbatical.
Ms. Meyer has her BA in Studio Art from Wheaton College in Illinois, and in addition to her time working at St. Mark’s, she has tutored students at Southborough’s Neary School and taught art at Camp Brookwoods in New Hampshire. She also coached Thirds Field Hockey at St. Mark’s in 2011-12.
Skilled in a variety of artistic mediums—including printing, painting, and oils—much of Meyer’s recent work has been inspired by the theme of “Painting the Invisible.”
