50th Reunion

Class of the Year: 1957

In recognition of their outstanding generosity during their 50th reunion year, the Class of 1957 is named Class of the Year.   Breaking all records for 50th reunion classes, 1957 has secured commitments of $1,000,000 to create an endowment fund to support the professional development expenses of faculty members in the area of technology.  To be directed by the new Chair in Academic Computing and Computer Science this income will be used to integrate technology into our classrooms in appropriate and needed ways.

Two earlier 50th reunion classes have made gifts in the range of $500,000, but 1957 has almost doubled the earlier record.  Led by Class Agent Wendell Fenton and his committee, Dick Collier, John Hall, Dick Henshaw, John Howarth, Charlie Lockwood, Peter Martin, Bill Nickerson, Jim Poitras and Ned Rossiter, did a remarkable job in both fundraising and creating a wonderful and full weekend for the class and their spouses.

25th Reunion – Class of 1982

For their 25th reunion gift, the Class of 1982 is generously supporting the creation of an endowment fund to support the work of the “We the People” organization.  The wording of the fund is “In recognition of our founding of We the People, the Class of 1982 has created an endowment to support both We the People as a specific initiative and to support, in general, the diversity of the St. Mark’s Community.”  To date, the class has already secured six pledges and intends to significantly increase this total during the next six months.
