Letter from the Headmaster

As I reflect back on this past year that featured so many impressive accomplishments at St. Mark’s, the first word that comes to mind is “grateful”. I am grateful to be a member of a community where I witness the growth and learning of our students each day. I am grateful to live and work on this beautiful school campus with a talented and dedicated faculty and staff. And I am especially grateful that we have so many loyal and generous members of the St. Mark’s community whose efforts make it all possible.

Alumni/ae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, friends and even students made gifts to St. Mark’s this past year. In the pages that follow, you will find the names of those whose assistance provides the means for us to advance our mission and to stay true to Age Quod Agis. We are indeed educating our students for lives of leadership and service, challenging them to develop their particular analytic and creative capabilities by inspiring their academic and spiritual curiosity and kindling their passion for discovery, valuing cooperation over self-interest, and encouraging each of our students to explore his or her place in the larger world. To each of you listed here, let me again thank you for supporting our efforts to achieve these goals.

The school year 2008/2009 promises to bring great challenge for all of us. I hope that St. Mark’s students may count on your help again to ensure that we may continue to offer the finest educational opportunities to the young people entrusted to our care.
