Announcing the 2026 St. Mark’s Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees
March 19, 2026
Four individuals and two historic St. Mark’s teams will be inducted into the School’s Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, May 2, during Reunion Weekend 2026. This year’s honorees will join 56 athletes, 11 coaches, one manager, and six teams already enshrined in St. Mark’s Athletic Hall of Fame, which was first established in 2001.

The 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees are:
Edward F. Miller ’60
Ed Miller ’60 was one of the most dominant linemen in St. Mark’s football history, earning All-New England honors while anchoring the Lions’ line and starring on the varsity hockey team. He was also on the undefeated 1959 Varsity Baseball team, which was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024, and he started on the 1960 team. At the University of Pennsylvania, Ed continued his athletic excellence as a first-string tight end in football and a four-year, first-string defenseman in hockey, serving as captain his senior year. A natural leader, Ed served the School as a trustee from 1985-1995, and as a 1960 Class Agent for decades.
Katherine “Kip” Porter ’79
Kip Porter ’79 was a trailblazing three-sport athlete at St. Mark’s, captaining the girls’ soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams and earning “Best Woman Athlete of the Year” in 1979. At a time when opportunities for female athletes were still emerging, she stood out as one of the School’s first true multi-sport stars. Kip went on to excel in women’s hockey at the University of New Hampshire, where she was a four-year varsity letterwinner on teams that compiled a remarkable 79–2–1 record. Kip is ranked 21st in UNH's all-time scoring record with 59 goals and finished her career with 122 points.
Jason C. Gates ’91 (posthumous)
Jason Gates ’91 was a remarkable three-sport athlete at St. Mark’s, lettering in football, hockey, and lacrosse and earning the School’s Fearing Athletic Prize in 1991. A dynamic running back, standout goalie, and captain of the undefeated 1991 lacrosse team, he earned High School All-American honors and played in the North/South All-American game. Remembered for his intensity, humility, and clutch performances, Jason left a legacy of excellence and teamwork.
Tess D’Orsi Dunlap ’16
Tess D’Orsi Dunlap ’16 was a record-setting lacrosse player at St. Mark’s and went on to a standout collegiate career at Princeton University, finishing among the program’s top scorers and earning All-Ivy and All-Region honors. She recorded back-to-back 50+ point seasons and an 80-point senior campaign, highlighted by a career-high seven-goal performance in the NCAA Tournament. A three-time high school All-American who set multiple scoring records and helped lead the Lions to two league championships, Tess remains one of the most accomplished lacrosse players in St. Mark’s history.
1975 Football and 1975 Boys' Varsity Soccer
The Fall of 1975 marked a historic moment in St. Mark’s athletics, when both the varsity football and varsity soccer teams completed undefeated seasons—the only time in School history that all fall varsity teams went unbeaten. Football finished 7–0 while soccer went 9–0–3 with seven shutouts, each team anchored by dominant defenses and standout athletes of the era. Led by Hall of Fame coaches Porky Clark, Henry Large, and Fritz Wiedergott, the two teams’ shared success made the autumn of 1975 one of the most memorable seasons in St. Mark’s history.
