Outstanding Performances at Winter Student Showcase

On Monday, February 5, six students shared their musical talents on the stage of the Putnam Family Arts Center's Class of 1945 Hall as part of the annual Winter Student Showcase.

James Wallace, Director of Music and Arts Department Chair at St. Mark's welcomed the audience and introduced the performers. Ilya Kazantsev was the piano accompanist for four of the pieces.

Mo Liu '18 played Bach's Partita No. 2 on the piano.

Waverly Shi '21 performed the first movement of Max Bruch's violin Concerto in G Minor.

Samantha Wang '21 took to the piano to play Xi Yang Xiao ("Flutes and Drums at Dusk") by Haiying Li.

Julian Yang '20 played Kenny G's "Heart and Soul" on the soprano saxophone.

Richard Zhang '21 performed Kreisler's Praeludium and Allegro in the Style of Pugnani on the violin.

Baritone Jason Hwang '18 sang "Majoong" ("Greetings") by Hak-Jun Yoon.

A reception followed the successful concert.
