St. Markers Thank Donors on Tuition Freedom Day
St. Markers Thank Donors on Tuition Freedom Day

On Tuesday, February 27, the Advancement Office sponsored their recognition of St. Mark's Tuition Freedom Day, marking the point during the academic year when the School's operating expenses are no longer covered by tuition revenue, and the Annual Fund and endowment "kicks in" (i.e., tuition only accounts for 63% of the total cost of educating a St. Marker).

Students stopped by a table outside the dining hall and wrote thank-you notes to be mailed to alumni, parents, and friends of the School who have already contributed to the Annual Fund. In addition to this, photographs of participating St. Markers will be posted online.

The goal of this event is to create awareness within the student body of the necessity of the School's fundraising endeavors. Without outside funding, the tuition for everyone would dramatically increase. The Advancement Office hopes to educate their students about the importance of giving back to St. Mark's and how they directly benefit from the generosity of others.

More than 100 notes were signed this year!
