St. Markers Earn National Honors Studying German

Four St. Mark's students—Alan Gao '19, Hans Wu '19, Justin Zhang '19, and Mo Liu '18—scored in the top tenth percentile on the challenging National German Exam and earned gold medals from the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG).

Three of the St. Markers—Gao, Wu, and Zhang—were able to attend the AATG of Massachusetts awards ceremony, where they were presented with their gold medals. In attendance at the event was the German Consul General, Dr. Ralf Horlemann.

The National German Exam is administered each year to over 26,000 high school students studying German. Impressively, Massachusetts has more than twice the number of gold medal winners than any other U.S. state.

Congratulations to these St. Mark's German scholars on their outstanding achievement.
