On Friday evening, February 2, the St. Mark's Asian Student Alliance (ASA) hosted a Festival Dinner to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The St. Mark's event took place in both the Hinkle Room and the small dining room. There was plenty of traditional Asian food, mostly prepared by FLIK Dining Service, although students and parents also provided some delicacies. More than 70 people were in attendance: students, faculty, staff, parents, families, and friends. There were presentations, musical performances, and dances from a wide range of students. A special video shared New Year's greetings from several parents of Asian students.
The ASA organizes this event each year to share the diversity of Asian cultures represented at St. Mark's, in keeping with the School's commitment to global citizenship.
On Tuesday morning, February 5, the ASA organized and presented a service for the entire School community to recognize the Lunar New Year. Students gave their personal perspectives on the holiday.
