Classics Banquet Celebrates Student Achievement
Classics Banquet Celebrates Student Achievement

On Friday, May 3, the St. Mark's Classics Club held its annual banquet in the Parkman Room.

The students enjoyed an Italian food buffet and entertainment by the Latin I class who performed an original play in Latin. Following dinner, the Greek II class explained the process and design of their Classical Diploma capstone project, a board game of the Peloponnesian war, and they presented a prototype for feedback.

Book prizes were then given by the department to students who completed the best sight translation at each level. Finally, students who took the National Latin and Greek exams received their awards.

Luke Lee '20 received a special commendation for a perfect score on the NLE for the second year in a row. Luke will also be the head of the Classics Club next year.

The wonderful evening celebration for St. Mark's Classics students was organized by VI Formers Matthew Gates and Reevie Fenstermacher, this year's Classics Club heads. Congratulations to them for their efforts and to all for their achievements.
