On Friday, December 13, 14 students in the St. Mark's New Hampshire Primary Club attended a rally for Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. They were accompanied by veteran faculty member David Lyons.
"It was a great experience," said Kendall Sommers '22. "I'm so glad I was able to go."
Mr. Lyons described the event as "energetic." He felt the St. Markers got a great deal out of it. "We hope to get to two or three more events in January." He noted that the greatest student interest seemed to be in candidates Pete Buttigieg and Bill Weld, "but we will see what is available."
This was the third visit to the Granite State this fall for the new student organization, following trips on September 27 to attend an event with democratic candidate Andrew Yang and December 8 for a rally featuring former Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State and U.S. Senator John Kerry.
