Casey Pickett Bates '09 Named to Beanpot Hall of Fame

On Wednesday, February 4, at Boston University's Walter Brown Arena, St. Mark's alumna and current faculty member Casey (Pickett) Bates '09 will be inducted into the Women's Beanpot Hall of Fame.

A four-year ice hockey letter winner for the Northeastern Huskies, Bates served as team captain for two seasons. She played in eight Beanpot tournament games during her career, and tallied four goals and four assists, including the game-winning goal in overtime of the 2012 title game en route to earning Beanpot MVP honors.

Pickett also played professional hockey for the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (winning the Clarkson Cup in 2015) and the Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (winning the first ever Isobel Cup in 2016).

Ms. Bates is currently assistant athletic director and head coach of girls' varsity hockey at St. Mark's. She also teaches English, is Assistant Director of Experiential Learning, a member of the Gaccon House Duty Team, and head coach of varsity softball.
