Second Annual St. Mark's Wellness Day

The second annual St. Mark's Wellness Day took place on Saturday morning, December 3. The day began with two keynote speakers: Ritu Kapur, who talked about how her connection to yoga and meditation led her on a journey to the Mount Everest base camp; and Mallory from Minding Your Mind, who discussed how students often feel the need to be perfect and how to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

Following the keynote addresses, St. Markers had the option to participate in different wellness experiences led by adults and students in our School community, including "Women, Leadership, and Sports" with Director of Athletics Lauren Ames; "Men's Health" with Classics teacher Ryan Davey; "One Love" with students Charlotte Crawford '24 and Maddie Bazinet '24; and "Strength Class" with Strength and Conditioning Coach Patrick Hagerty.

A wellness fair in Taft Hall gave students an additional opportunity to practice mindfulness, gratitude, and meditative drawing while enjoying good food and conversation.

Special thanks to Carl Corazzini and Lauren Martin '85 for planning Wellness Day, and for their ongoing commitment to student health and well-being at St. Mark's. So far this year, the Wellness Department has tackled an important theme every month with students, including nutrition, bullying prevention, substances, and relationships.
