On Tuesday, April 7, St. Mark's hosted its first-ever virtual Revisit Day for prospective students and their families.
This year, of course, was different, as the 2020 Revisit Day was experienced remotely. It began at 9:30 a.m., as Head of School John C. Warren '74, Director of Admission Anne Behnke, and Senior Associate Director of Admission Elizabeth Cavanaugh '04 welcomed everyone. Ms. Cavanaugh was the official host, moderating the virtual event. This was followed by an academic information session featuring presentations by a number of faculty members, a remote look into online classrooms, and a presentation by a panel of current students. There was an opportunity for questions before Revisit Day wrapped up by noon.
"It was truly an honor to moderate today's Virtual Revisit Day and welcome our new families on behalf of the Admission Office and the alumni network!" declared Ms. Cavanaugh. "I loved seeing all of the students I interviewed both on campus and throughout all of my recruitment travels across the US and Canada this year all together in one room! While Zoom is definitely not the same as being on campus, it does provide the opportunity for families who were not otherwise able to come to Southborough to participate in the Revisit Day programming. I was also so proud of our current St. Mark's VI Formers who articulated their St. Mark's stories in such impressive and fun ways. They were truly the stars of the morning and I was so excited for them to connect with our admitted families."
"Families were given the opportunity to virtually 'Step Inside Our Classrooms'," said Channing Warner, associate director of admission. "They got to hear from our faculty directly, watch glimpses of Zoom classes held this week, and see photos and videos of our many offerings at St. Mark's. The entire event was a huge undertaking and a huge success, and we could not have done it without our faculty and student panelists."
"Our faculty and student participants all had an opportunity to share their love for St. Mark's how they have grown," stated Ms. Behnke. "Ms. Cavanaugh did an outstanding job moderating the program. Also, with COVID-19 relegating our Revisit Day to a different platform, the whole innovative plan and operation originated with Ms. Warner's really creative thinking and strategy. We had a full house, and the day was definitely a success!"
