Global Citizenship
Expanding Perspectives. Inspiring Leaders.
Global Citizenship at St. Mark’s connects learning in the classroom with meaningful experiences in the world. Through travel, cultural immersion, and academic exploration, students discover new perspectives on language, science, history, and culture while developing the skills to lead with empathy and understanding.
A World of Opportunities
St. Mark’s offers a robust number of programs for both domestic and international travel. These experiences amplify classroom learning by placing students in real-world settings where they can explore culture, language, science, and many other disciplines in an experiential format.
Lions Roam
Immersive Coursework + Global Travel
Lions Roam is a fully endowed program that blends coursework at St. Mark’s with international travel. Students spend a semester or full year studying a culture or region in depth, then travel to experience it firsthand. From exploring the Holocaust in Central Europe to studying biodiversity in Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands, Lions Roam creates powerful, immersive learning opportunities that bring the classroom to life.
The Global Diploma

A Capstone Recognition of Global Learning
The Global Diploma celebrates students who have fully embraced the global learning opportunities at St. Mark’s. By weaving together coursework, travel, service, and reflection, students graduate with a clear pathway of growth that prepares them to engage with the world as thoughtful, informed, and compassionate leaders.

Exchange Programs
Learning Through Partnership
Each summer, St. Mark’s students and faculty travel abroad to partner schools, where they study, live, and immerse themselves in another school community. During the academic year, the exchange comes full circle as we host students and teachers from those same schools here in Southborough. They learn alongside our students, participate in daily life on campus, and enrich the cultural fabric of our community.
GEBG Endorsement

St. Mark's School is endorsed by the Global Education Benchmark Group (GEBG), a nonprofit organization that researches and provides a guide to global education for more than 300 schools, ranging from kindergarten to high school, in 16 countries. St. Mark's first joined the organization as a member school in 2013.
