Alumni Awards

Established in 2009, the Alumni Awards Program was created to celebrate the achievements and contributions to society that have been made by many of our graduates.

2025 Alumni Award Recipients

Distinguished Alumni Award

This award recognizes the lifetime achievement of alumni whose personal lives, professional achievements, and community service exemplify the objectives of their alma mater. This is the highest honor bestowed upon an alumna or alumnus.

Lives of Consequence Award

This award recognizes mid-career professionals who are making a positive impact on their community and are oriented toward a purpose larger than themselves. Nominees for this award graduated from St. Mark’s School within the past 25 years.

Nominate a St. Marker

Nominees are selected biannually. We are now accepting nominations for the 2025 Alumni Awards Program. Submit your nomination by October 15, 2024 to allow for the selection of honorees for the 2025 ceremony. Nominations made after the deadline or of those not selected will be reconsidered in each nomination cycle for ten years.

The Alumni Awards Selection Committee reviews all nominations and consists of:

  • The president, vice president, and one other member of the Alumni Executive Committee to be elected by the Council;
  • Two members of the Board of Trustees, designated by the President of the Board;
  • The Head of School, Director of Community and Equity, and a senior member of faculty and staff designated by the Head of School.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Established by the Alumni Executive Committee and Board of Trustees in 2009, and acknowledging lifetime achievement, the Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed by St. Mark’s School upon an outstanding alumna or alumnus. The award salutes the achievements of alumni whose personal lives, professional achievements, and community service exemplify the objectives of their alma mater.

Lives of Consequence Award

The Lives of Consequence Award recognizes mid-career professionals who are making a positive impact on their community and are oriented toward a purpose larger than themselves. Nominees for this award shall have graduated from St. Mark’s School within the past 25 years. These recipients may go on to be recognized with a Distinguished Award later in life, but by highlighting them earlier we hope both to create a deeper connection to the School and a more relevant role model for current students.

Ethan Anthony Loney '69 Distinguished Alumni Service Award

The Ethan Anthony Loney ’69 Distinguished Alumni Service Award honors alumni whose significant contributions enhance the St. Mark's School community, based on principles of service, loyalty, commitment, and leadership. This award will be granted at the discretion of the Alumni Awards Selection Committee and will recognize alumni who:

  • Have served the St. Mark's community with dedication or inspired others to do so.

  • Have championed change and provided innovative solutions to challenges within the School community.

  • Have shown qualities of service and commitment through a remarkable singular achievement or demonstrated a lasting dedication to improving the School.
