Theater

The Theater Department is an active component in the life of the school, mounting a major main stage production in fall and winter, and the ever-popular Student-Directed One Act Festival in the spring. Numerous opportunities exist for performers and non-performers alike, including a fully student-run tech crew. Each year, more than 20 percent of the student body participates in the productions.

The productions are brought to life in our intimate black box theater and are typically modern and ensemble-based.

What's the story?

A comedic stage adaptation of the award-winning film. Young Will Shakespeare has writer's block. The deadline for his new play is fast approaching, but he's in desperate need of inspiration. That is, until he finds his muse... the determined, brilliant and beautiful Viola. This young Noble Woman is Will’s greatest admirer and will stop at nothing (including breaking the law) to appear in his next play. Against a bustling background of mistaken identity, ruthless scheming and backstage theatrics, Will’s love for Viola quickly blossoms, inspiring him to write Romeo and Juliet, one of his greatest masterpieces.
