Coaching Staff

  • Yue grew up in Shanghai, China, and went to Pomfret School in Connecticut. She received her B.A. in Mathematics, with a minor in Economics, from Smith College, where she was elected to Sigma Xi. Yue began her teaching career at Phillips Academy Andover, where she served as a teaching fellow in the Mathematics Department. In addition to teaching, she supervised a girls’ dorm and assisted with coaching boys’ novice crew. Prior to working at St. Mark’s she received her M.Ed. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

  • Christopher Roche began working at St. Mark’s in 2011, and he came to us with experience as a lawyer, teacher, and artist. After earning his BA in computer science at Dartmouth, Chris attended the University of Pittsburgh Law School and earned his JD. After serving as a law clerk in the New Jersey Supreme Court and working in New York City for a number of years as an intellectual property attorney involved in computer litigation and software licensing s, Chris pursued his passion for the arts – he is a talented oil painter – and earned his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and studied in Rome in RISD’s European Honors Program. . Chris’s teaching experience includes six years at Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn, where he taught computer science to students in grades 3-12. Additionally, he completed coursework in physics and earned a Zamensky Physics Prize at the City College of New York, while working in the intellectual property field. . At St. Mark’s, Chris has worked to grow the number of computer science, robotics and new media offerings and he as worked tirelessly as one of the mentors on both the St.Mark’s robotics team (FRC Team 3566) and also the St. Mark’s sponsored FLL Team “Can of Worms”. He also leads students each year to gain new experiences in computer science and programming at the MIT Blueprint Hackathon, where he has served as a Blueprint problem-solving mentor for the past three years. With Athletic and boarding experiences from his time as a student at Phillips Exeter, where he played hockey and rowed crew and Dartmouth College, where he rowed for four years, Chris enjoys working with students and finding ways to do and make amazing things. Chris lives on campus and likes very much to travel in the summer with his daughter, Lily. Chris has also served on St. Mark’s STEM Steering Committee and worked with the STEM Building architects on the STEM Building Planning Committee.
