Leah Spencer joins the St. Mark's community as the new head coach of girls' varsity basketball in the 2023-24 season.

Coach Spencer comes to SM from Regis College, where she served as assistant coach for the women’s basketball team. While at Regis, she played a significant role in recruiting prospective student-athletes, scouting opponents, and creating social media content. She was also an AAU coach at the Millworks, where she coached 7th and 8th graders.

A three-year member of the girls' varsity basketball team at Archbishop Williams High School, Coach Spencer won a state championship in 2013 and earned a scholarship to play at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. At Saint Michael's, Spencer earned Third Team All-Northeast 10 honors as a junior. She received a Bachelor's degree in political science and a Master's in strategic sports communication from Regis College this past spring.

Coach Spencer is also a member of the 2023-24 NBA Future Basketball Operations Stars, a program that educates about various components of basketball operations from industry experts and leaders across the NBA, WNBA, and G-League.

Maggie Kelly joined St. Mark’s as a Biology teacher and crew and basketball coach in the Fall of 2020. She is an alumna of Teach For America for which she was a Corps Member in Boston. Maggie has a Masters in Education from Boston University and a BA from Georgetown University, where she was captain of the varsity sailing team. She was excited to return to a boarding school community, having graduated from Middlesex School in 2013 and lives on campus, at St.Mark's. Maggie enjoys spending time in the outdoors, snowboarding, and baking for friends and family.
