The holiday season at St. Mark's is filled with wonderful traditions and celebrations.
There is always the traditional service of Lessons & Carols in Belmont Chapel (Read web story here).
Following the Thursday, December 13 service, Padma Mynampaty '22 made the trip to Worcester to appear on THE FOLK REVIVAL (WICN – Worcester Public Radio), hosted by SM alumnus and staffer Nick Noble '76, to perform a holiday song as well as one of her original compositions on the station's annual live holiday broadcast.
Santa visited the Faculty Room on Tuesday evening, December 17, to read a holiday story to and visit with children of faculty and staff. They all had a wonderful time!
Also the annual Exam Bake offered treats to students studying for a multiplicity of tests and assessments. These were available in the Hinkle Room, and St. Markers lined up for their share during assessment week. (For Exam Bake photos, click here).
Finally, on Sunday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m., an 18-piece big band, featuring St. Mark's faculty member David Lubick, will be performing a holiday benefit concert in the Putnam Family Arts Center's Class of 1945 Hall at St. Mark's. Tickets are being sold to benefit CASA and ABBY's HOUSE, Worcester service organizations, but this event is open to the St. Mark's community for free. Vocalist Deirdre Pedersen, a sophomore at Clark University, who placed second nationally in the Michael Feinstein American Songbook competition as a junior at Westborough High School, will be performing.
