Ms. Cavanaugh joined the Admission Office in 2010 after two years in the Advancement Office. She has a degree in American Studies from The George Washington University and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Southern California. She also spent a great deal of her undergraduate and high school studies concentrating in the Classics, earning a Classical Humanities minor from GW and a Classics Diploma from St. Mark's School. Outside of the Admission Office, Ms. Cavanaugh also serves as advisor to eight students, house parent on West Campus, and coach. Ms. Cavanaugh is well known for her enthusiasm and love of the sport of rowing. After a successful NCAA Division I rowing career as a GW Colonial, stroking two Atlantic 10 Conference Championship crews in 2005 and 2006, she is now the Head Coach of Varsity Girls' Crew program, oversees the entire St. Mark's Rowing program, and has led the St. Mark's girls to seven medals at the NEIRA Championships since taking over the program in 2013. She has previously coached squash and field hockey at St. Mark's, as well. When she is not in the Admission Office or on the water, Ms. Cavanaugh enjoys running, improving her golf, tennis, and squash games, following her Boston, GW, SM, and USC sports teams, and visiting her favorite places around New England and Southern California. She lives on on campus with her golden retriever, George Washington Cavanaugh.
