Marion Donovan joined the St. Mark's faculty in the fall of 1995 as an assistant librarian, after a twenty year career teaching high school history. While at St. Mark's she has also been called on occasionally to teach history, study skills and English as a Second Language. Her AB in history is from Smith College, and she earned her MA in East Asian Studies from Yale. She lived in Tokyo, Japan for a year as a Mombusho fellow at Waseda University. She chaperoned ten St. Mark's students on a three week exchange tirp to Kyoto,Japan in 2002. She particularly enjoys assisting St. Mark's students with their history research and writing, as well as working with international students. Scale miniatures is her hobby, along with reading historical mysteries, science fiction, and fantasy. She lives in Northborough with husband Brendan. Their daughter Lauren Ginsberg who teaches Classics at the University of Cincinnati and is married to ER doctor Zachary Ginsberg. They all spend as much vacation time as possible at their second home at Goose Rocks Beach in Maine.
