Priorities

With the support of families, friends, and alumni at all giving levels, St. Mark’s will strengthen the fabric of our campus and our community, enabling the School to better help students reach and exceed their potential. In doing so, we will shape a sustainable future for St. Mark’s, and a brighter future for the world our graduates will inherit

The Residential Life Initiative

Reimagining the "School Under One Roof" | $44MM

St. Mark’s has developed plans for an extraordinary new residence hall to be located close to the Main Building. The Residential Life Initiative strengthens our commitment to residential education, setting the stage for new generations of St. Markers to make meaningful contributions to their world by drawing on their experiences in the houses and elsewhere during their years at St. Mark’s.

Faculty Excellence Fund

Enduring Excellence | $6.5MM

Superb, caring faculty members form the cornerstone of the St. Mark’s educational experience. Whether illuminating the connection between law and literature by preparing students to defend fictional characters in a mock court, or helping students understand the principles behind a “green” electric car, St. Mark’s teachers create vibrant, enlightening classroom experiences that spark students’ imaginations and set the stage for a lifetime of avid inquiry. Beyond their academic duties, faculty members serve as coaches, advisors, and House Parents, supporting and nurturing their students in every aspect of their lives.

Financial Aid

Opening Doors | $10MM

Support for the School’s Financial Aid Endowment will allow us to educate even more dedicated students from families with limited means. Just as important, these funds will enable students who receive aid to participate in every facet of a St. Mark’s education— from global citizenship travel opportunities to groundbreaking scientific research and competitive sports. St. Mark’s offers an exemplary residential education that prepares students to lead lives of consequence.

Annual Fund

ClosING the Gap | $23MM

Accounting for approximately 11 percent of the School’s operating budget, gifts to the Annual Fund help close the gap between tuition and the actual cost to educate a St. Mark’s student. Support for the Annual Fund has a direct and immediate impact on all aspects of the School—the academic program, athletics, arts, financial aid, professional development, facilities, and campus life.

Ensuring Our Future

At this critical moment in our history, we must consider the future we wish to establish for St. Mark’s. Support for the Lives of Consequence campaign will ensure that the next generation of students continues to benefit from the exceptional educational environment that has distinguished the School for more than 150 years. Just as we must prepare today’s students with the flexible and adaptable skills to succeed in an undetermined future, we must reinforce the academic, financial, and personal foundation upon which our School is built so that St. Mark’s will endure—and thrive for generations to come.
