Michael Greenwald

Michael Greenwald is Managing Director at Tiedemann-Constantia & Senior Vice President at Tiedemann Advisors. He leads Tiedemann’s business development in the Middle East, providing geopolitical and macroeconomic guidance to the firm and clients. He serves as a trusted advisor and manages senior relationships with family offices in the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.

Prior to joining Tiedemann, Michael held senior national security positions at the US Treasury, working with Africa, Europe, and serving as a financial diplomat in the Middle East spanning three administrations. From 2015 to 2017, Michael served as the U.S. Treasury attacheĢ to Qatar and Kuwait, the Department’s senior-most representative to both countries. He also held counterterrorism and intelligence roles in the US government, traveling to over 20 countries in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He was part of the Treasury team that crafted sanctions against Russia.

Michael is a frequent speaker, writer, and commentator on international security, the Middle East, and illicit finance issues. He has given lectures at The Council on Foreign Relations, Harvard University, Yale Law School, and Northwestern Business School, Doha. His range of business interests include: Fellow, Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs; Senior Member, Atlantic Council; Board Member of Halo Maritime Defense Systems and Aspen Institute, Vanguard Society of Fellows. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Trilateral Commission North America Group.

Michael's philanthropic positions include: Chair, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Next Generation Board; Senior Advisor, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; National Board Member & Chairman of the Finance Committee, Susan G Komen Foundation.
