A Message from Head of School John C. Warren ’74, Ed.D.
On behalf of the entire St. Mark’s community, I offer deep gratitude to our generous donors, who contributed $12,322,100 during the 2022-2023 fiscal year, including $2,665,598 to the Annual Fund.
Your generosity has a tremendous impact on the St. Mark’s student experience, inside and outside of the classroom. Your philanthropy also supports the School’s important work to enroll the very best students from a wide range of geographic and economic backgrounds, making St. Mark’s a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
The Impact of Annual Giving
The Annual Fund supports every aspect of the student experience in the classrooms and houses, on the athletic fields and in the art studios, and through myriad student activities, all under the guidance of our exceptional and caring faculty. Representing nine percent of our operating budget, the Annual Fund is essential in bridging the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a St. Mark’s education.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of every donor, and the outstanding leadership and dedication of Annual Fund Chair Bruce Morgan ’70 and Parent Annual Fund Chair Michael Pellini P’20, ’23.

Lauren Ames
Don’t try to run with Lauren Ames. She’s fast. Olympic Trials-level fast. But that’s not why she was named athletic director last July. It’s her clear vision of where she wants to take the St. Mark's athletics program, her impressive leadership style, and her deep commitment to the School's mission that won her the job.
Crystal Jiang P’25
When parents of prospective students ask Crystal Jiang what makes St. Mark’s so special, she gives them an answer they might not expect.
Taren Bradley ’93
In December 2019, Taren Bradley was thinking about reaching out to St. Mark’s to discuss expanding the Black alumni network. Then George Floyd was killed. At that moment, she knew she had to find a way to get more alumni of color involved in the School.
Mike Pellini P’20, ’23
Mike Pellini and his wife Jane are the products of public schools. They never considered private school for their daughters. “But they came to us,” Mike recalls. “They said. ‘We don’t feel like we’re getting the type of attention we need from our teachers.’ It was their idea to go to St. Mark’s.”
Jason Eslick P’26
The Smashing Pumpkins. Chaucer. The Cold War. The School of Rock. What do these seemingly disparate things have in common? Jason Eslick.
Ian Walsh ’85, P’17, ’20
Three generations of Ian Walsh’s family have attended St. Mark’s—a legacy he’s proud to be part of.
