Elaine Harvey ’06

Elaine Harvey ’06 is a director of innovation in the education space based in Maine.

Over the past 8 years, Elaine has been building systems, developing programs, and helping teams spend less time grinding and more time creating. These days, she is working on infusing innovation throughout the Camden Hills public school curriculum.

Elaine is most excited about highlighting the essential humanity in problem-solving and forward progress. She believes the best solutions come from falling in love with a problem, and to do that, you need to do a lot more listening than talking.

On her journey to this job, Elaine has worked at a number of universities in enrollment management, development, and communications, which have taught her a great deal about education ecosystems. Outside of work, she is usually hiking with her dogs, looking for interesting rocks on the beach, or recipe testing a new soup. She really loves soup.

Before that, Elaine spent a lot of time in school. She graduated from Mount Holyoke with a bachelor's degree in American history, from the University of Vermont with her master's in educational leadership, and from Northeastern with her doctorate in education.

Elaine remains closely connected to St. Mark’s and shares: "St. Mark's instilled a true love of learning in my heart and mind, and for that, I'm ever grateful. As a way of saying thank you to the School, I serve on the Board of Trustees for St. Mark's as president of the Alumni Executive Committee (AEC)."
